Looking for spooky decoration ideas? Here’s 4 easy peasy Halloween crafts you can make with your children!
Halloween Egg Carton Bats
What you need:
Egg carton, scissors, black paint, paintbrush, googly eyes, glue
How to make it:
- Cut out 3 cups from an egg carton. Then cut the bottoms of the 2 outside cups into jagged edges to resemble bat wings (see above image).
- Next paint them black. Just one coat should be fine.
- To finish get some glue and stick on the googly eyes.
And there you have it, an amazing googly eyed bat! If you want to hang them up just get some ribbon and attach it to the top with some tape or glue. Wonderfully simple and the kids will love making them!
Black cat cards
What you need:
Black and orange card, glue, scissors, green felt tips, pencil, ruler, paper, twine
How to make it:
- With a pencil and ruler draw a basic cat shape onto the black card and then cut around it.
- Next cut out six small round circles from your white piece of paper and using your felt tip draw on the eyes.
- Next stick the eyes to the card, making sure they are in the middle and in-between the two ears.
- Next get some twine (or if you don’t have it wool will do) and tie this into a bow shape for the whiskers.
- Hold this in place with a blob of glue.
- Fold your orange piece of card in two and then stick the cats to the front of the card!
Hey presto there you have a beautiful card that can be used as an invitation or just to decorate the house!
Lolly stick Cobwebs
What you Need:
3 x lolly sticks, silver paint, glue, 2 metres of white wool, 1 x plastic spider
How to make it:
- Paint three craft sticks silver and let them dry.
- Glue them together at the center, forming a star shape.
- Tie one end of the wool to the center of the sticks.
- Wrap it around the other spokes, then move outward, wrapping the sticks as shown.
- Tie off the yarn and add a plastic spider, by either gluing to the middle or attach it using leftover wool.
These can be dangled from ceilings or propped on bookshelves, or just let your kids play with them – it’s up to you!
Lolly ghosts

1 x pack of Claudi & Fin Minis, black food colouring
How to make it:
This doesn’t really need any instructions as it’s pretty self explanatory. Just place 2 small blobs of food colouring for eyes and 1 slightly larger blob for the mouth.
