7 great ideas for the Platinum Jubilee Weekend

(yes, that’s one idea for every decade!).

1. Zoobilee at London Zoo

If you’re planning a trip to London to soak up the atmosphere why not head to the Zoobilee event at London Zoo?  The event, which kicks off on 28th May and runs until 5th June, will feature family-friendly activities, including a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, bug hunting and craft sessions to create an animal crown. With animal talks, face painting, quizzes and trails, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.

It does what it says on the tin!  Worth checking out to see what’s going on near you.

5. Pack up a picnic

Windsor is having a Big Picnic in the Great Park and there will be picnics in your area too.  So if the idea of a full-scale street party is a little much for you and your neighbours, why not gather for a picnic instead? You’ll still create a sense of community spirit, but with less prep required.

Head over to Good Housekeeping for some food great ideas. We love the look of these raspberry lemonade bars.

7. A berry good idea

As the makers of fruity froyo, lolly fans will know that we’re big berry fans.  And we’re not just talking about those juicy summer fruits. We also adore the Queen of Baking, Mary Berry, too!  So now is the perfect opportunity to make a fruity flag traybake for your jubilee party.  This Mary Berry recipe looks berry good to us.  And as Mary would say, it really is a showstopper!
